I am thrilled that you are considering our Sixth Form for the next stage of your educational journey. Our school provides an exceptional environment for learning, with a dedicated team of experienced teachers, a comprehensive programme designed to foster both academic achievement and personal growth.

At the heart of our approach to teaching and learning is a commitment to nurturing independent study, fostering deep and creative thinking, and encouraging students to meet the highest standards. In a supportive atmosphere built on mutual respect between staff and students, our Sixth Formers excel academically and develop the skills and confidence needed for success in higher education or the workforce.

We pride ourselves on offering a wide range of educational opportunities tailored to each student’s unique interests, strengths, and ambitions. Beyond academics, our Sixth Form is a vibrant and dynamic community where students take on leadership roles, serve as role models for younger peers, and contribute actively to the wider community in a culture of opportunity and responsibility.

Welcome from the Head Girls  

We are incredibly proud to be Head Girls at a place that is so much more than just a school to us.  

We learn so much more than what we read in our textbooks: the importance of our physical and mental wellbeing, transferrable skills for the workplace and how to embrace diversity and champion inclusivity.  

The amplitude of opportunities available both in and outside the classroom to every student are testament to the wonderful staff at Newlands. There are many leadership positions alongside over 70 clubs across every department. 

Every day we witness students demonstrating the courage needed to take on new challenges, whether it’s speaking up in class or even in assembly; we are proud to celebrate the success of everyone in our school community.  

Furthermore, the commitment of our students to both academic and extra-curricular activities is unwavering, like the commitment of our teachers, who will always go the extra mile to help us. 

But most importantly, the compassion our students show to one another is second to none and we are proud to have a community where everyone feels safe and supported to flourish and excel here at school and beyond.
